Day 01

Arrival Chennai - Mahabalipuram

Welcomed by India World Travel representative at the airport and depart to Mahabalipuram. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 02

Mahabalipuram - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram

After breakfast a drive to Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram is the 7th century port town of south India. The town is famous for its rock-cut and monolithic temple architectures. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the famous Arjuna’s Penance, the Shore Temple and the Pancha Rathas (Five Chariots) – five monolithic pyramidal structures named after the legendary Pandavas. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 03

Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry

After breakfast drive to Pondicherry. Pondicherry is a former French colony and now a Union Territory of India that carries a strong whiff of the French presence in India. Legends say that Pondicherry is the place where St.Agasthaya settled down. Overnight at the Hotel.

Pondicherry - Tanjore

After breakfast drive to Thanjavur (Tanjore) enroute visiting the Brass factory at Kumbakonam. Tanjore once the capital of Chola Kings, has the Brahadeswara temple(or the big temple of God).The temple tower rises to a height of 15mts from a square base of 29 mts and then tapers off, making a total of 66mts.Overnight at the Hotel.

Madurai is over 2500 years old and is the second largest city of Tamil Nadu. Madurai has a rich cultural heritage passed on from the great Tamil era. Visit the famous Meenakshi temple. The 1000-pillared hall depicts beautiful sculptures showcasing stories from ancient Hindu Epics. You could also visit other places of interest such as the Palace of King Thirumalai Nayak, built in 1636 in an indo-saracenic style. Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 08

Madurai - Thekkady

After breakfast drive to Periyar, Periyar tiger Reserve, Periyar is an example of nature’s bounty, with great scenic charm, rich bio diversity and providing veritable visitor satisfaction. Sprawled over an area of 777 Sq .km. Periyar is one of the 27 tiger reserves in India. Overnight at the Hotel.

Today after breakfast you could go jungle trek where you will see various wild animals like elephants, sambar, gaur, macaques, Nilgiri langur and you will get the opportunity to sight elephants you may even spot the leopards and tigers. Day 10

Thekkady - Munnar

After breakfast drive to Munnar ,Munnar hills is siatuated at an altitude of 5000 to 8000 Ft above sea level , and is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala. This beautiful hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Munnar - Alleppy (Houseboat)
